Harness racing driver Brett MacDonald reached $10 million in earnings on Saturday (Jan. 21) at Flamboro Downs in the first month of his eighth season.
The reinsman reached the milestone via a first-race victory with Got Charlie (Sportswriter). The mare didnāt see the pylons until making the front at three-eighths, but she controlled the tempo from there and held off the charging Rock On Harriett (Colin Kelly) to win in 2:00.3.

MacDonald made his driving debut in 2015 and has since won 1,494 races in 10,846 starts. The Freelton resident had his best season in 2022, surpassing 2,000 starts, 300 wins, and $2 million in earnings, each for the first time. He has been one of Canadaās winningest drivers over the past three years and has tallied 18 so far this season. The 26-year-old also owns Saulsbrook Victor, who has won four straight Preferreds at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
