Major League N (Gotta Go Cullen) captured the Fillies and Mares Preferred at Flamboro Downs on Friday for the 35th victory of the Kiwi import’s harness racing career.
She reached the quarter in :28.4 on a loose lead after blasting out from the five-hole. Ed Hensley rated her to a :58 half, and Shoot The Whiskey (Travis Cullen) put her under pressure to three-quarters in 1:25.3 after tipping first-over from third. Major League N maintained her cushion around the final turn and held off Shoot The Whiskey by a half-length in 1:54.2. Randomirogeo (Travis Henry) finished third, five-and-a-half lengths behind the winner.
MAJOR LEAGUE N REPLAY
Major League N is now 35-for-149 with $343,368 in earnings in her career. The New Zealand-bred moved to Canada from Australia in late 2019 and has raced for owners Ed and Ashleigh Hensley. Ashleigh Hensley has trained the 10-year-old to nine wins this year.
Driver Travis Cullen and trainer Jodie Cullen combined for three wins on the 10-race program.
