Major League N (Gotta Go Cullen), in her return to the top harness racing level of Flamboro Downs, prevailed in a photo finish in the Fillies and Mares Preferred on Thursday (Nov. 28).
The veteran mare cut the mile, rated to :27.2, :56.4, and 1:24.1 fractions by Ed Hensley. Odds-on favourite Shoot The Whiskey (Travis Cullen) was on the march throughout the back half, racing first-over around the last lap. The mare reeled in the leader around the final turn and bore down in deep-stretch, but Major League N hung on to score by a head in 1:53.4. Settn A Precedent (Samuel Fillion) completed the triactor.
