Fix A Drink (Angus Hall) repeated in the Rideau Carleton Raceway Preferred-Handicap on Thursday (Nov. 2) in another wire-to-wire harness racing effort.
The gelding raced on top through :28.2 and :58 first-half fractions before throwing down with Crossfit (Guy Gagnon), who tipped first-over entering the backstretch. Fix A Drink held the attacker a length adrift through three-quarters in 1:26.2 and into the stretch. Crossfit chipped into the margin late, but Fix A Drink held him off handily and completed the victory in 1:55.3. Crossfit was second by three-quarters-of-a-length. Duke Lavictoire finished three-and-a-half lengths back in third.
