Massive Profit (Muscle Massive) rose in class and won for the second straight week, this time capturing the top harness racing condition at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday (May 9).
He remained in starting position, dropping in fifth as Heavy Dude E provided a :29 first quarter. Tyler Borth swung the gelding to the outside just after the half time of :59.4 went up, and Massive Profit was quickly by all foes but one with a first-up rush.
Massive Profit worked away and made progress through three-quarters in 1:29.1. Heavy Dude E began to resist going into the final turn and held a one-length advantage going into the stretch showdown with Massive Profit still gaining to the outside. Despite the leaderās persistence, Massive Profit sailed by him in mid-stretch to get up by a length in a 7-1 upset.
Heavy Dude E was a half-length second in the 1:59.2 mile. Lass Shot (Garrett Rooney) followed their duel home for third.
MASSIVE PROFIT REPLAY
The victory came in Massive Profitās 50th lifetime start. It was his 10th lifetime, and he has now earned $92,011. He is riding a three race winning streak, which began in the NW $1,500L3 condition and is now in the NW $5,000L3 class. William Hamm of West Lorne owns and trains the four-year-old.
Borth finished the night with three consecutive wins, completing a grand slam as he steered Mist Amber (Betterthancheddar, 1:58) to a 10th-race victory.
Stakes action will kick off at The Raceway at the Western Fair District during their next card on Wednesday, May 10. Five first-leg divisions of the City of London Series are set for the 10-race slate, which will begin at 5:50 p.m. EDT.
