Harness racing driver Doug McNair put the cherry on top of a six-win evening as he steered Silver Label (Bettors Delight) to victory in the $36,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Friday (Oct. 11).
The mare traveled fourth through the opening half, tracking the pylons through :27.1 and :55.4 fractions. Doug McNair summoned her to the outside on the final turn, and she rode Dabarndawgswatchinās (Jody Jamieson) cover through three-quarters in 1:23.1. Silver Label came off the helmet at the top of the lane and rocketed to the front, soaring clear for a two-length victory in 1:50.2. Tells On A Roll (Travis Cullen) rolled to a place finish. Dabarndawgswatchin was third.
