Meilleur Fromage (Betterthancheddar) held her head in front in the final strides to string together a third consecutive harness racing victory at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday (Nov. 22).
She and driver Jason Ryan could find no vacancies at the pylons and drove on behind the fellow competitor stuck wide, Sweetest Hustle (Tyler Moore). The pair formed the outside flow through first-half fractions of :29.3 and :59.3.
Ryan hit the launch button as they approached three-quarters in 1:29.3, and the mare swung three-wide and instantly outkicked Sweetest Hustle before charging at leader Putyourbettdown (Scott Wray). Putyourbett down held a narrow lead down the lane, but Meilleur Fromage overpowered the mare as they approached the line and reached home in time to deny the closing Ethel (Patrick Barr).
Ethel was short by a head. Putyourbettdown held third.
MEILLEUR FROMAGE REPLAY
