Mickeymaksomespeed beats Jaydens Place

Mickeymaksomespeed (Mickey Hanover) got one back after two straight Quebec regional circuit losses to Jaydens Place in the featured Invitation Pace at St. Joseph de Lepage on Saturday (Aug. 6).

Mickeymaksomespeed, driven by Denis Audet worked wide to take the lead passing the half and battled Aethon (Pierre-Luc Roy) to the finish to score in 1:55.2. Aethon was second by three-quarters of a length. Jaydens Place was four lengths back in third.

Michel Allard of Saint-Esprit trains his homebred, a 19-time winner in 50 career starts with a $77,021 bankroll. The five-year-old stallion has been a major player on the Quebec scene for much of his career.

El Torero (Jeremes Jet, Audet, 1:57) won the sub-featured Invitation Pace. Hall Win (Angus Hall, 2:01, Kevin Maguire) took the Invitation Trot.

The Quebec regional circuit visits Hippodrome de la Vallee on Sunday, Aug. 14.
