SUMMERSIDE, PE – Middleton Terror (Stonebridge Terror) came first over and took no prisoners on his way to harness racing victory in the Tuesday (June 13) evening Preferred 2 Pace at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
Middleton Terror and trainer-driver David Dowling were unhurried as the post time favourite in the $3,600 featured pace, getting away fifth in the field of eight. Navalny (Driven by Adam Merner) was first to the front and controlled the lead for nearly the entire mile with fractions of 28.3, 58.3 and 1:27.4 with Middleton Terror calling on the outside and getting up for a length victory in 1:55.4. Navalny was second ahead of Moonwriter (Ken Murphy). Kingsley Walsh shares the ownership of the winning pacer with Frank Balcom.
Drivers Corey MacPherson and Murphy continued their deadlock for leading driver in Prince County with three wins each on the night.
MacPherson visited the winner’s circle with Now Showing (1:56.2) for trainer Leith Waite, Ironside Seelster (1:56.2) for Duane MacEachern and Brookdale Jim (1:59.4) from the Phil Sizer stable.
Murphy landed on top with No Fool MacKinley (1:58.3) from the Garth Cole barn, Dylan Sam (1:58.2) in the $3,000 back-up class for Allan Gregory and Woodmere Knight (1:59.2) for trainer Colin Johnson. Johnson had a training double on the night as Truckem (Merner) won the opener in 2:00.
