Gias Surreal (So Surreal), who became a harness racing millionaire earlier this season, captured the first Fillies and Mares Preferred of the meet at Flamboro Downs on Thursday (Sep. 5).
The mare pushed past Betternotmachme (Travis Cullen) to secure the front as she reached the quarters in :28.1. Tyler Moore rated her to a half in :58.1 but accelerated to three-quarters in 1:26.3 to deal with the first-over challenge of Jm Betonsix (Anthony Haughan). Those two battled around the turn and into the stretch, with Betternotmachme making her charge at the pylons, but Gias Surreal held them both off by a half-length for the victory in 1:55. Jm Betonsix got up for place over Betternotmachme.
