Moosette (Hes Watching) avenged last week’s loss in winning the harness racing Fillies and Mares Open Handicap at Fraser Downs on Thursday (Mar. 9).
Brandon Campbell withdrew the mare from a line of four leavers and settled her down into the four-hole. Miss Itunes (Scott Knight) led through :26.2 and :56 first-half panels unopposed before Moosette teed off first-over on the backstretch.
Miss Itunes quickened to a 1:24.1 three-quarters to deter the challenge, but she was powerless to stop Moosette, who charged clear down the lane and kicked home to a two-length victory in 1:53.1.
In High Cotton (Dave Hudon), who won the Mar. 9 renewal of the class, got up for second. Hang On Sloopy (Bradley Watt) closed for third.
MOOSETTE REPLAY
Driver Allan Molloy, who returned this season after a one-year absence from driving, scored a triple on the night. His seasonal total is now a strong seven-for-22.
Fraser Downs continues racing on Friday, Mar. 10. An Open Handicap will feature to kick off the card at 7:00 p.m. PST.
