A pair of Muscle Mass harness racing progeny were the two six-figure purchases of the second and final day of the London Classic Yearling Sale on Wednesday (Oct. 19) at the Western Fair Agriplex in London, Ont.

Steve Colvin bought Masstercraft, hip 118, for $110,000. The colt, consigned by Dean and Ashley Wilson, is out of Here Comes Herbie mare Pretty Crafty. The mare, an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold winner on the track, produced OSS standout and Dream Of Glory winner Publicity Seeker and strong overnighters Call My Broker and I Got The Looks.

Northern Looker brought the other six-figure tag. Charalambos Christoforou won the colt, hip 141, with a bid of $105,000. Northern Looker is the third living foal of Shestheonetowatch, by Kadabra and out of Grand Circuit contender Celebrity Sweedie.

The sale totaled $6,637,000 over the two days and 186 yearlings sold for an average price of $35,682. Those figures bettered the 2021 London Selected Yearling Sale and all other London sales in price per yearling since 2001.

Resolve had the highest price per yearling with $73,600, with Muscle Mass just behind at $66,368 across 19 offspring. Those sires led the way in trotting colt production, which garnered the highest price per yearling of $52,310. Seelster Farms was the most successful consignor, sending 37 yearlings through the ring for an average tag of $53,055.
