Pebble Beach (Downbytheseaside) returned to the site of his North America Cup win to take the $911,250 Breeders Crown three-year-old colt pace in dominant harness racing fashion at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday (Oct. 29).
The colt was relegated to third after leaving hard but didn’t follow a helmet for long. Todd McCarthy ordered Pebble Beach to the front just after completing the first quarter in :25.4. He took command in time to cut the half-mile time of :54.1 and kicked away as he motored to three-quarters in 1:21.2.
McCarthy asked down the lane and the colt responded. He ran up the score as he sprinted for home,Ā crossing the line four-and-a-half lengths the best in 1:48.1.
I Did It Myway (Andrew McCarthy) was second past the post. Bythemissal (Chris Page) rallied belatedly for third.
PEBBLE BEACH REPLAY
