Rock N Pebbles (Betterthancheddar) won her first harness racing start of 2024 on Wednesday (Jan. 3) at The Raceway at the Western Fair District after losing 16 in a row to end her rookie season.
Tyler Borth, the trackās leading driver last year, fired the mare to the front quickly from post seven. She led all the way from there, fending off the first-over Lilly Clary (Greg Drew) and finishing under wraps to score by two lengths in 2:02.3. Lilly Clare hung on for second over the closing Lady Speaker (Andy Moore).
ROCK N PEBBLES REPLAY
Rock N Pebbles went one-for-20 in her first season last year at three, taking her sole win four starts in. She was winless from August to the end of the year and hit the board twice. Her Wednesday victory brought her record to two-for-21 with $11,589 in earnings. Mauricia Miller trains the four-year-old for owner/breeders Ronald Ash of Desboro and Mike McLaughlin of Durham.
Borth took three wins on the card.
