CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Pasta Momma (Huntsville) made her mark in the Thursday evening harness racing feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Marc Campbell was in the bike behind the Landon Campbell trainee in the $3,700 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace for owners Brady Doyle and Ryan and Everett MacLeod, as Pasta Momma stopped the timer in 1:56 flat in her PEI debut. Rosetown Mary (Driven by Corey MacPherson) came swinging late but fell short in second while Plain Jane (Brady Sweet) was third.
The Jennifer Doyle stable captured a pair of races as Elm Grove Mistress (Damian MacLellan) won race 9 in 1:55.4 and Woodmere Heather M (David Dowling) continued her winning way in race 7 with a 1:56.4 victory.
The Mike McGuigan stable dominated a pair of dashes as races 4 and 5 had his trainees finishing first and second in both. Race 4 saw Gettin Lit (MacPherson) win in 1:59 over Gettin Tipsy (McGuigan) while Islebetu Islebeatu (Dowling) scored a half-length decision in the race 5 Happy 30th Birthday Dr. Katie McQueen Pace in 1:57.1 over second-place Freaky Fanny (McGuigan).
Trainer Tom Weatherbie and driver Brodie MacPhee doubled up on the evening with Redlandbethanyjean (1:54.4) and Saulsbrook Pika (1:58.3).
