No Plan Intended (Up The Credit) captured another Preferred Pace at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Monday (May 15) with a front-end harness racing effort.
Tyler Borth mobilized the gelding to the front, grabbing the advantage before completing the opening quarter in :27. The leader got a stress-free second panel, hitting the half in :56, but Cheddar Bay (J. Bradley Harris) moved up with pressure in the third quarter.
No Plan Intended held a length lead through the third station in 1:24.2 and put away Cheddar Bay on the final turn. No Plan Intended had to sprint for home with the field bearing down and hit the wire three-quarters of a length ahead of the surging St Lads Cash (Travis Henry) for the victory in 1:54.2.
Cheddar Bay held onto third.
NO PLAN INTENDED REPLAY
No Plan Intended increased his career win total to 22 with the victory in his 63rd start. The Terry Gallant-trained gelding has earned $276,884 lifetime and has visited the winnerās circle twice this year. Jennifer Doyle and Danny Birt of Vernon Bridge own the five-year-old gelding.
Also on the card, Kilmartin Passion (Il Sogno Dream, Anthony Haughan) broke her maiden in her 30th lifetime start. The four-year-old broke after the start but recovered to sit a stretched-out fourth. After the leader broke at the top of the stretch, she kicked off second-over cover and rushed by her last two on-gait foes to win by a neck at 17-1 in 2:06.
KILMARTIN PASSION REPLAY
The mare had previously four place finishes and five third in her 29 outings. Dennis Duford trains her for Glencoe-based owner/breeder Betty Mackinnon.
The Raceway at the Western Fair District will continue action with an 11-race program beginning at 5:50 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, May 16.
