Northside Downs and Woodstock Raceway both canceled their harness racing cards for Saturday (Sep. 16) due to the incoming Hurricane Lee.
The Atlantic Canada region is on alert as the system moves toward it, causing both tracks to cancel as a safety precaution.
Northside Downs was due to host Atlantic Sires Stakes racing, which also would have necessitated travel for many horses and horsepeople.
Horse Racing New Brunswick announced that it will seek a make-up date.
Prince Edward Island’s Charlottetown Driving Park also canceled its scheduled race date.
