Oh A Legend (Bit Of A Legend N) won for the fifth time in her past seven harness racing starts in the first leg of the Blizzard Pacing Series for three- and four-year-old fillies and mares on Thursday (Jan. 16) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Away fifth for Tyler Borth, she entered the outer flow as the field progressed down the backstretch and marched to the top, taking over on the final turn. The mare gradually pulled away from Dirty Diana (Bob McClure) down the lane and cruised to victory by two-and-a-quarter lengths in 1:54.3. Dirty Diana was second with Space Cadebt (Mike Whelan) third.
OH A LEGEND REPLAY
Oh A Legendās win was her first of the season for trainer Chris Bush. She won four in a row from Nov. 8 to Dec. 13 before breaking stride in the Niagara Series Final on Dec. 26.Ā She has won seven of 24 lifetime starts and has earned $81,941. Bush co-owns the four-year-old with Bernie Klacer.
The second Blizzard Series division went to Stag Royal (Stag Party). The mare, driven by Scott Young, popped the pocket to take over on the backstretch before being put back in the two-hole at the midway point by Cocco Puff Power (Doug McNair). Cocco Puff Power took off at the top of the stretch, but Stag Royal hunted him down late and held on over the charging Love On Me (Travis Cullen) to win by a head in 1:56.2.
Fox Valley Tatum (Kyle Tatum) also charged but was a half-length short in third.
STAG ROYAL REPLAY
