Oh Coffee Bean (Western Terror), who started the harness racing season in Nova Scotia, shipped back to Ontario for new connections and extended his winning streak to five at Georgian Downs on Tuesday (Jun. 27).
The colt was dominant in the victory. He grabbed the early lead, as he did every start in the Maritimes, performed a give-and-go in front of the stands, and began to storm away in the third quarter. He opened up five lengths on his opponents for Travis Henry and held a four-and-a-half length cushion to the finish in 1:58.4, a new career-best. Monsieur Chow (R. Dustin Jones) closed for second. The Serpent (Don Johnson) was third.
OH COFFEE BEAN REPLAY
It was a lifetime best for Oh Coffee Bean, who is perfect in five starts on the year. He won every start at Inverness Raceway for Alex Macdonald by open lengths. Isaac Waxman now trains the three-year-old for Tess Waxman of Ridgeville and Luke MacDonald of Mabou. The colt is now seven-for-five lifetime. He started his career in Ontario in 2022 but was well back in both starts and shut down in August.
Georgian Downs will next be in action on Saturday, Jul. 1.
