Oh Gouda (Betterthancheddar) stepped up and went back-to-back in conditioned harness racing competition at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday (May 2).
She grabbed the lead quickly for Michale Horner, clearing midway through the first turn. The first half splits were :29.1 and 1:00.1, and Oh Gouda turned for the backstretch on top.
Ventimatchalatte (Paul Mackenzie) stalled first-over, giving Oh Gouda another soft panel to three-quarters in 1:30.2. Getitgetitgotit (Samuel Fillion) went three-wide around the traffic but also failed to progress. Oh Gouda kicked away turning for home, and she strolled home with mild encouragement to score in 1:59.4.
Bettor Deal stuck within two-and-a-half lengths of the winner, finishing second. Hurrikane Msrodine (Travis Henry) rallied for third.

Oh Gouda is now six-for-13 lifetime. The filly has earned $29,071 for R A W Equine of Burlington and Mark Horner of St. Marys. She won her last start at London on Apr. 25 and her prior two attempts at the track in March.
Jason Ryan tallied three driving winners on the evening.
