Muscle Mass offspring Mass Money and Arcadia Seelster captured their second harness racing legs of the City of London Series on Friday (May 24) at The Raceway at the Western Fair District.
Mass Money was first up in the trotting filly group. She took the overland route for Scott Young in the opener, grinding first-over from the half and beating Moxiebow (Scott Wray) with a late push for the win in 2:00. Hallie Intheclouds (J. Bradley Harris) finished third.
MASS MONEY REPLAY
The winner, trained by Mark Etsell, is perfect in three starts this season after a winless rookie season. She is now three-for-eight with $18,720 in earnings for owners Etsell, Robert Newton, Peter Porter and Lindsey Turner.
Arcadia Seelster (Wray) took his first career victory in the trotting colt split. He popped the pocket on the backstretch and scrapped with Hp Musical Alarm (Wray) into the stretch. The pair were nose-to-nose at the head of the lane, but Arcadia Seelster motored clear to score by a length-and-three-quarters in 1:59.1. Hp Musical Alarm was second, a length from Teasin (Dean Wall).
ARCADIA SEELSTER REPLAY
Arcadia Seelster debuted this year and finished fourth in every prior attempt. Gregg McNair trains the three-year-old colt for Ross and Brent Holmes.
The City of London Finals are set for May 31, Camluck Classic night.
The Raceway at the Western Fair District enters its final race week of the meet on Monday, May 27. The 10-race card will start at 5:50 p.m. EDT.
