Dream Nation (Scott Young) flew away from the start and forced the typically forward-going Oney Hall to take the pocket spot. Dream Nation then trotted to the quarter in :27.4 before Trevor Henry ordered Oney Hall to circle the leader, which he did in short order on the backside.
Henry and Oney Hall led the seven-horse group to the half in :56.4 and three-quarters in 1:26. Spartan General (Chris Christoforou) left the three-hole on the final turn to head the outer flow and pursued the leader, who maintained his length and a half advantage down the stretch. Henry needed to work little as Oney Hall finished the job handily in 1:53.2.
Spartan General took place for the second week in a row, falling short by three quarters of a length. Dream Nation rode the pylons to a third place finish.
