Leaving from the starting gate with determination, Oney Hall and driver Trevor Henry made it look easy in wiring the field in a romp Monday at Woodbine Mohawk Park in the $36,000 Preferred Trot.
Shooting to the front, Oney Hall was followed in second by Free Willy Hanover (Jonathan Drury) and stuck on the outside was Perfetto (Dagfin Henriksen) as they passed the quarter mile marker in :28.2.
With Perfetto parked first-over since the start, Oney Hall and Henry had things their own way past the half mile in :56.4.
Coming to the three-quarters in 1:24.3, Free Willy Hanover was actually beginning to gain some ground on the outside, but Oney Hall was too tough, pulling away from the field to win by five lengths in 1:52.4. Perfetto hung gamely for second with Pikachu Hanover (Doug McNair) third.
