In The Mood (Sunshine Beach), winner of an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold leg last year, notched her first harness racing victory of the season as she went wire-to-wire at Flamboro Downs on Saturday (May 27).
The mare cut fractions of :27.3, :56.2, and 1:25.1 for J. Bradley Harris and held a chasing duo at bay down the stretch to score in 1:53.3. She was a length-and-a-quarter clear of Manhattan Night (Scott Young), who beat Ahoy (Scott Coulter) narrowly for place.
IN THE MOOD REPLAY
In The Mood did not hit the board in her first four starts of the year, including two races in the Ontario-sired Graduate Series. She won a leg of the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold series at three and made the Super Final. She is 10-for-30 lifetime and has earned $246,637. Hudson Standardbred Stable owns and bred the four-year-old.
Flamboro Downs hosts more racing on Sunday, May 28, including a Billings Amateur Series race.
