P L Oliver (Sportswriter) scored for the first time for new connections as the gelding made his 2025 harness racing debut in the Preferred Pace at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday (Jan. 14).
Travis Henry mobilized him out of post three to take the lead, racing to the quarter in :28.2. He received company as It Takes Two (Lorne House) left the rail as the field swung towards the stands, and he stuck with the leader through middle fractions of :59 and 1:28.
P L Oliver maintained his lead around the final turn and was first into the lane. It Takes Two continued to chip away, and Drinkin Buddy (Samuel Fillion) took aim off his cover, but P L Oliver resisted them both and prevailed by a length-and-a-quarter in 1:58.4.
It Takes Two held second over the rallying Drinkin Buddy.
