More great harness racing action was on display in Calgary, Alberta at Century Downs today and a pair of $90,000 finals were decided.
Logan Gillis helped push G Ts Skyla (Mystician) over the finish line first in the Shirley McClellan Breedersā Stake. The three-year-old filly paced the mile in 1:54.3 and picked up her fifth-lifetime win. Her performance was good enough to earn her a new lifetime mark. G Ts Skyla continues to dominate, as she has never finished worse than second place this year. Scott McGinn picked up his fifth training win of the year in only eight starts. The win also puts Logan Gillis over $250,000 earned in the sulky this year.

Virtual Horizon (Vertical Horizon) made it seven straight wins in 2023 when he cruised to victory in the Mooreās Mile Breedersā Stake.
The three-year-old colt paced to a new personal best time of 1:53.2. Brandon Campbell was in the bike and picked up his only win on the day. Campbell is now over $1 million in earnings as a driver in 2023.

At 15-1 odds at post time, Grey Sea (Custard The Dragon) won the Filly and Mare Preferred in 1:53.0. The four-year-old mare was a perfect four-for-four in 2022. This is Grey Seaās seventh win this year and her eleventh lifetime. Grey Seaās effort today was just one-fifth of a second slower than her lifetime mark of 1:52.4. Mike Hennessy picked up his fourth win of the afternoon with Grey Sea and ended up with five by the end of the card.
