Century Mile has a seven-dash harness racing card set for Friday night, featuring a pair of carryovers. First, a $1,653 carryover in the Jackpot Pick 5 starts in the third race. Also, there is a $8,885 Hi-5 carryover in the night’s final race.Ā

Race 1
Outlaw Allie Oops (Blue Burner) should be a slam dunk to kick off the card. She opens at 2-5 morning line odds after taking the Filly & Mare Preferred last week in 1:55.0. She once was a $5,000 claimer but now has a price tag of over $31,000. She has come a long way for her connections.Ā
At 6-1, Gold Onthehorizon (Vertical Horizon) is one to add to any exactor or tractor bets. She has back-to-back fifth-place finishes but has been racing in the Filly & Mare Preferred. Her mile times are similar to the rest of the field and should be in play to kick the night off.
Sunshineatthebeach (Sunshine Beach) has finished third in both of her starts this year. She also comes from the Preferred class and will be a fierce competitor.Ā
Race 2
Ak Nite Lady (Andreoli Hanover) is coming off a 7-1 upset last week and will look to do it again as she opens with 6-1 morning line odds. She came from off the pace and won in 1:58.3. Trainer Kevin Hildebrandt has a Udrs of .494 to kick off the year, and his horses should always be considered.
Mister Moose (Mystician) got caught by Ak Nite Lady last week. The four-year-old gelding won’t be easy to beat again, but I like going with the hot hand.
After winning back-to-back races to end 2023, Yru So Sirius (Captive Audience) finished fourth to start the new year. The odds maker thinks he still has an excellent chance to win this one by giving him 5-2 odds. He could be a significant factor when the field turns for home.
Race 3
Nicotime (Betterthancheddar) has finished second and third this year but has yet to book a trip to the winner’s circle. He can either lead wire-to-wire or come off the pace and close fast. He also never won a race in 2023, but Friday could be the night!
Hf Devan James (Wink N Atcha) has finished in the top three in five consecutive races. He is a consistent pacer but has yet to win in four starts. The rail has been kind to him in the past, but he will have some speed coming from his right.Ā
Ceia When I Ceia (Jk Royal Flush) is the most winningest horse in the field. He has 11 career wins, and nine of them came last year. However, he is winless in one start this year, but he posted a solid mile time of 1:57.2.
Race 4
Making her 2024 debut, Cora Cora Cora (Captive Audience) looks to be a tough one to beat. She draws the rail, which should help her immensely. The last time she took the early lead, she went on to win wire-to-wire.Ā
You Promyst (Mystician) is also making her 2024 debut. She will be fighting for that early lead as well. She has a couple of racelines showing she likes to jump to the front but often gets caught.Ā
Roulette Hanover (All Bets Off) is a perfect one for one in 2024. She comes from off the pace with a 28.2 closing quarter to win in 1:55.1.Ā
Race 5
I completely slept on Cheese Whiz (Betterthancheddar), but just like the hit song by The Who, I won’t get fooled again. The eight-year-old mare deserves the 2-1 morning line odds after finishing first and second in her two starts this year.
After leading most of the race, Havinfuninthesun (Sunshine Beach) fell to seventh in her last start. However, she did win the start prior in 1:55.1. She has had a couple of weeks off and should be fresh at post time.
Oriental Express (Mystician) also led most of her prior race but fell to sixth late. Her times are similar to the rest of the field, and she will be teaming up with Phil Giesbrecht. Giesbrecht has been hot to start 2024.
Race 6
Myomylookatmefly (Lambretta) was beaten by a tough Cheese Whiz last week, but only by a neck. The eight-year-old mare comes into this race with the best previous race lines. She has won two of her last three and only lost by a neck in the other place.Ā
Another Manitoba-bred mare, Miso Classy (In The Irons), will be tough to beat. She fell to fourth last time but will get some post-relief this time.
Stlyomilohos (Mystery Chase) finished third behind Myomylookatmefly last week but got the tough post-eight to deal with it. She has shown she can come from off the pace, but catching the other favourites might take a lot of work.
Race 7
With nine entered in the final race, Sporty Jewels (Sportswriter) will have his work cut out for him. However, he is coming into the race, having won two of his last three, and his worst finish was second place.Ā
At 6-1, Alpine Billy (Jk Royal Flush) could be an excellent play. He drew the rail and finished third, just behind Sporty Jewel last time.Ā
Pull The Trigger (Vertical Horizon) broke his maiden in late December and has been slowly producing faster miles since. His win came in 2:00.2, but he posted 1:58.2 and 1:59.2 mile times since. Those times could be good enough to win if he gets the trip.Ā
Post time on Fridays is now at 7:30 p.m. MST.
