The stallion travelled fourth as Locatelli (James MacDonald) led to the quarter in :28.2 and Hp Mama B (Sylvain Filion) took over from the pocket before completing the half in :56.3.

Tyler Jones slid Patriarch Hanover off the cones on the approach to three-quarters in 1:25.3 as Hp Mama B kicked out to a three-length advantage. The leader trotted strongly coming home but began to unravel in the last eighth of a mile. Patriarch Hanover exploded at the eighth pole and ripped away Hp Mama B’s lead, catching her by a head in 1:53.4.

Oney Hall (Trevor Henry) finished third.

PATRIARCH HANOVER REPLAY

Patriarch Hanover stepped up to the top level three starts back, coming off a three-week break. In his three starts against open competition, he has a place, a show, and a win. The Richard Moreau-trained horse is 19-for-113 lifetime with earnings of $643,511. Brad Grant of Milton owns the six-year-old.

In addition to the feature, Moreau won three races. He had winners in Bettor Notbitter A (Bettors Delight, MacDonald, 1:53.2), Gigondas (Trixton, McClure, 1:54.4), and Skylar (Rockin Image, McClure, 1:55.1).

Woodbine Mohawk Park continues racing on Thursday, Apr. 20 at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
