PEIHRIA Broodmare Purchase Assistance Program 2021

The PEIHRIA and the PEIHRIA Breeders Committee are pleased to announce a Broodmare Purchase Assistance Program for 2021.

This breed development fund has the goal of assisting PEI residents with the purchase of ten eligible broodmares.

The PEIHRIA will offer a rebate of 50% up to a maximum of $4,000.00 for in-foal mares and 50% up to a maximum of $2,000 for not-in foal mares.

Applicants are eligible for one broodmare purchase assistance rebate per fiscal year. Mares must reside on PEI for 24 months after purchase, foal on PEI, and the first two breedings after purchase must be to a PEI Stallion.

Applicants will be entered into a draw on November 8th, 2021 for the ten available slots. The goal will be to assist five trotting mare purchases and 5 pacing mare purchases for the first year of the program.
