MILTON, September 6, 2021 – The post-position draw for the 38th Pepsi North America Cup was conducted Monday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
The field of 10 three-year-old harness racing pacers learned their starting spots for this Saturday’s $1 million race. Bulldog Hanover and Perfect Sting earned the opportunity to select their post after their elimination victories on Monday.
Bulldog Hanover’s connections had first choice and selected post-four, while Perfect Sting connections followed by selected post-three.
Trained by Jack Darling, Bulldog Hanover has won six of eight starts this season and 10 of 14 during his career. The son of Shadow Play will be looking to give trainer Darling his second ‘Cup’ title (Gothic Dream, 1997) and driver Jody Jamieson his third (Tell All, 2007 – Up The Credit, 2011).
Perfect Sting, last year’s undefeated Dan Patch Award winner, has won four of nine this season, while never finishing outside the top-three.
The son of Always B Miki is 14 for 19 lifetime and will attempt to give his trainer Joe Holloway his second ‘Cup’ crown (Safely Kept, 1992) and driver David Miller his third (Betting Line, 2016 – Fear The Dragon, 2017).
The remaining eight horses were placed in an open draw for the eight other starting spots.

Final driver changes and morning-line odds will be set by 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
The $1 million Pepsi North America Cup will go as Race 11 on Saturday evening. Post time is approximately 10:42 p.m. ET.
First race post time for the $3 million-plus card is 6:30 p.m.
Admission is $10 at the door or admission can be pre-purchased all week during live racing hours. Admission is free for those under the age of 18.
The Pepsi North America Cup will be broadcast on TSN4 from 10-11 p.m. Saturday.
