Privilege (Sunshine Beach) traveled east to Truro Raceway on Friday (Jul. 15) after two dominant harness racing victories at Exhibition Park and renewed his sharp form with another win in a Winners-Over event.
Driver Todd Trites followed the gelding to Nova Scotia and put him on the engine for the second straight week. Privilege cut :28.3 and :58.4 first-half panels and cruised two-and-a-half lengths clear by three-quarters in 1:27.3.
Trites urged the gelding home with Risin Horizon (Darren Crowe) looming from the pocket, and Privilege finished a length-and-a-quarter clear in 1:55.3.
Risin Horizon got home second. Rusty Riley (Paul Langille) was third. The winner returned $3.60.
PRIVILEGE REPLAY
Aiden Ferrish of Summerside and All For Fun Stable of Truro brought the six-year-old to Atlantic Canada in June. The gelding made his first 78 starts in Ontario. George Rennison has taken over training duties and has harnessed him to three wins in four starts. The gelding is now 20-for-82 lifetime with $88,927 in earnings.
Also on the card, trainer Noah Whebby recorded his first career victory as he sent out Ridinlikeyastoleit (Sunshine Beach) to a lifetime-best score. The colt went wire-to-wire in 1:56.2 under the guidance of Marc Whebby.
RIDINLIKEYASTOLEIT REPLAY
Ridinlikeyastoleit has given Noah Whebby all four of his training starts since owner Wayne Eric Whebby moved the colt to Nova Scotia from Ontario at the beginning of the season. The horse has won two of 11 lifetime tries and brought in $40,895.
Two-year-old Brookdale Seb (Shadow Play) broke his maiden for trainer/driver Bernard McCallum in a 27-1 upset. The colt swooped two-wide on the final turn and pushed past Zigi (Dali, Ernie Laffin) to win in 1:58.2. Glenview Rhonda (Crowe) was third.
BROOKDALE SEB REPLAY
Douglas E. Polley and Douglas R. Polley co-own Brookdale Seb, whom they bought for $10,000 at the Atlantic Classic sale. The colt is out of Dragon Again mare Dew It Again.
