Jimbelina (Big Jim) reached $300,000 in career harness racing earnings in her return from Quebec to Woodbine Mohawk Park on Thursday (Aug. 29) in the Pop-Up Series.
The mare flew forward to lead into the turn but was headed by Better Be Donna N (Jonathan Drury) at the quarter in :26.4 and shuffled to third in the second split. She sat on the cones to the half in :56 before pulling out on the final turn to attack the leader.
Jimbelina eclipsed Shes Lawless (Trevor Henry) at three-quarters in 1:25 and sprinted clear by three lengths down the lane. Her cushion was cut down to a length-and-a-half in the final eighth, but she completed the victory in 1:53.2.
Getting Euchred (Doug McNair) closed for place and held off show finished Chelsis Choice (Tyler Borth).
