Too many horses, Charlottetown adds race date

Charlottetown, PE – Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park is responding to an increased harness racing horse population on PEI by adding an additional race date on Thursday May 11^th.

Post time is 6:00 pm. Due to private functions previously booked, the Top of the Park and Grandstand will not be open to the public. Guests can enjoy service at Turf’s Bar & Grill and Red’s Gold Cup Lounge.

The legendary oval kicks off the Spring meet Saturday May 6^th at 6:00 pm with a 15-dash program. Qualifiers will be held earlier in the day at 1:00 pm.

Opening night features Isle Pick 5 with $1,500 guaranteed pool presented in part by the PEI Harness Racing Industry Association, two Super Hi-5’s and late Pik 4 with low 15% take-outs. Customers will be treated to wagering BOGO’s, prize giveaways and special segments on the Race Day Broadcast network.
