CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Jewels Dragon (Custard The Dragon) gave harness racing driver Marc Campbell win number five of the evening during the Friday (Aug. 9) program at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at Charlottetown Driving Park as Old Home Week racing continued.
The Landon Campbell trainee won the $2,950 Trevor Tracey – Tracey Family Funeral Home Pace in in 1:56 in line to driver Marc Campbell for owner Nick MacGillivray of Cornwall.
Campbell also won theĀ race 5 Bob Connelly Memorial Pace in an 8-1 upset with Catch The Spark on 1:59.1 for trainer Brendan Mullen.
The David MacDonald Memorial Pace in race 7 went to Thinkingofyoubabe (Campbell) in 1:58 for co-owner and trainer Kyle Wilkie and co-owner Shelly Wilkie of Stratford.
Bankroll was another winner for driver Campbell and trainer Mullen in the race 8 In Memory Of Buddy & Joan Shepherd Pace in 1:58.3.
Campbell also celebrated victory with Allaboutthecash in a 1:56.3 trip from the Jeff Holmes barn as part of his five-bagger.
Screen Test won the race 6 District 17 Liberal Association Pace stopping the clock in 1:57.3 for trainer-driver Corey MacPherson. It was the second part of a MacPherson training and driving double after race 1 went to Evil Vintage (1:57.4).
Live racing continues Saturday at 4 P.M. with a 16-dash program at Red Shores Charlottetown featuring the first two trials of the Gold Cup and Saucer, presented by Atlantic Lottery.
