Charlottetown, PE- Adkins Hanover's Red Shores Charlottetown debut was cut short a week ago, but on the final race of the 2017 winter meet, he turned out the lights on his harness racing rivals to score the feature race victory over the legendary CDP.
Scoring from post 7 the Ambyr Campbell trainee scorched over to the opening split of :27.4 before opening up through a half in:56.1. The son of Western Ideal paced over the three-quarters pole in 1:26.1 before scoring a multiple length victory in 1:57.1.
Corey Macpherson handled the lines for owner Perry Burke of Quebec. The win have Macpherson a hat trick on the card after getting Dusty Lane Zendaya back on the winning track and an Open Trot score with Holy Mollie Maggie
The top driver on Prince Edward Island in 2016 closed out the 2017 winter meet with a statement. After being absent last week, Marc Campbell scored three straight victories from races eighteen for a natural hat trick before clicking in Race 12 with the classy 10-year-old pacer Eagle Jolt.
The son of Village Jolt capped off a marvelous day for Campbell, giving him a training triple on the card. Hickory Chumley returned to the Island to close out the meet in winning fashion and maritime bred Woodmere Articblue crushed her rivals on route to her second victory in 2017.
Gary Chappell scored a driving double on the card.
The wager on the afternoons card was $39, 417. Racing will return to Red Shores Charlottetown on April 22.
