SUMMERSIDE, PE – Bugsy Maguire was pointed forward for every point of the mile as part of a four-win performance by driver Corey MacPherson Monday evening at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The Wade Sorrie trained son of Bettors Delight was sent hard off the gate and cleared to the lead in the $3,100 preferred pace and sprinted through fractions of 27.1, 57.3, 1:25.4 and 1:54.4 by a three-length winning margin.
Walter Simmons of Summerside holds the ownership papers of Bugsy Maguire as he defeated second place Chocolate Swirl (Driven by Jason Hughes) and Heart And Soul (Walter Cheverie), who was third.

MacPherson also won with Shes Magic (1:58.2) for trainer Duane MacEachern, Adventure Luck (2:00.1) for Robert Williams and Pleasing Pink (2:01.2) for trainer Brady Sweet. MacPherson’s four-win performance makes the driving title a tight affair at the Prince County oval.
Hughes, who was winless on the night, leads the way with 45 victories ahead of Marc Campbell, who had a driving double to sit one back at 44 wins. MacPherson now has 43 winners to land in third place.
