SUMMERSIDE, PE – Few harness racing horses love to spring the gate as much as Burn Out Hanover and he will get every opportunity to in the Monday evening top event at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
The Prince County oval has 12-dashes scheduled for a 6:00 P.M. start time on Monday with the top event in race 11.
The $3,300 class sees Burn Out Hanover (Well Said) off the rail for the team of driver Brady Sweet for trainer Jeff Holmes and owners Orwell Bay Stable. The seven-year-old out of multi-million dollar winner Burning Point has one of the hardest kicks at the start of any horse on the Eastern Seaboard and has made five trips to the winner’s circle in 2022 including a 1:53.4 seasonal mark in Charlottetown.
His Boy Elroy was the winner in this class last week and gets post 3 to work from on Monday for driver Corey MacPherson and trainer Phil Sizer. Atlantic Triple Crown winner Heart And Soul leaves from post 2 with Jason Hughes in tow while Mantario gets post 4 with Myles Heffernan Sr., supplying the driving services. Former Governor’s Plate Champion Bugsy Maguire has post 5 for rookie driver Damian MacLellan after the pair teamed up for win 45 of the horse’s career on Sept. 5 in Summerside.
The Backstretch Beat in Monday’s card likes Burn Out Hanover to go all the way.
“When the wings close Burn Out Hanover will guard every pylon and be nothing but a blur down the left side of his competition. He is tough off the lead and his foes will have a hard time getting around him.”
The race 12 finale is an evenly matched affair for a $2,500 purse as Flowersonthebeach (Devon Wallace) is the top choice from the outside post 8 for co-owner and trainer Jeff Wallace and co-owner Cecil Flowers. Other top entries include Rock The Baby (Harold Shepherd) from post 5, Emperor (Murphy) with post 6 and Pictonian Storm (MacPherson) with post 7.
