CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Bugsy Maguire was fired up from the start and heeded no challenges on his way to a mild 8-1 upset in the Saturday afternoon preferred pace over a sloppy harness racing track at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Leaving from post 1, Bugsy Maguire, with Dale Spence in the bike, was pointed forward in the $3,400 preferred pace and laid down all the fractions on his way to a 1:57 victory over a sloppy track rated four seconds off. Heavily favoured Time To Dance (Driven by Marc Campbell) sat in the two-hole and finished second while Moonwriter (David Dowling) was third.

Spence scored a driving triple on the day winning with Get Home Terry (2:04) for trainer Edgar Stewart in a $4,000 P.E.I. Harness Racing Industry Association Autumn Series division and with Howmac Blaze (2:00.3) in overnight action for trainer Michelle Myers.
Myers had two training wins on the day with Adam Merner steering Maggiesdelight (2:03.1) to victory in race 8. The other $4,000 P.E.I.H.R.I.A. Autumn Series division was won by Psili Ammos (2:07) for trainer-driver Kenny Arsenault. A trio of $5,000 P.E.I.H.R.I.A.
Fall Challenge Series divisions were won by Lock Her Up (2:04.1) and Brookdale Ollie (2:00.2) both in line to Arsenault for the driving triple and by Egamer (2:06.2) for driver Ken Murphy. Corey MacPherson made three visits to the historic winner’s circle with Private Dancer (2:04.3) for trainer Paul Conway, Magical Cowgirl (2:01.4) for Pat Murphy and with Tell Me Why (2:00.3) for Joe MacDonald.
