CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Doing all the heavy lifting on the outside, Outrageous Show (Hes Watching) was upset-bound in the Steven MacRae Memorial harness racing final on Saturday afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The $4,500 Steven MacRae Memrial Fall Series Final had Rockin Novel (Driven by Ken Murphy) guard the pylons at the start to trip the opening quarter in 29 seconds flat over a wet track listed two-seconds off. Heavily favoured Keeper Floored (Marc Campbell) came calling past the quarter to swoop up and take the lead at the half of 58.2 while Outrageous Show (Corey MacPherson) was on the move on the outside first-over.

Outrageous Show and Keeper Floored battled to the three-quarters of 1:29.1 but it was Outrageous Show who prevailed in the stretch drive by three-quarters of a length in 1:59.3 at 7-1 odds.

Keeper Floored was second with Philthebank (Jason Hughes) completing the triactor. Jeff Holmes trains the winner for owner Paul Holmes of Warren Grove.

OUTRAGEOUS SHOW REPLAY

Write One was the best in the $3,200 Steven MacRae Memorial consolation winning off the front in 2:01.1 for driver Myles Heffernan Sr., trainer Trevor Hicken and owner Jackie Heffernan of Summerville.

Hughes had a double as a trainer-driver with Sugar Bowl winning the $3,500 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace in 1:57.3 for owners Tommy Collings and Brian MacPhee, while Acefortyfour Dome won the Fillies and Mares Preferred 3 class in 1:57.2 for owner Donald MacRae. Hughes goes into the Sunday card only three victories away from career win 2000.

Ron Matheson had a pair of victors from his Charlottetown barn with Southern Heart (Corey MacPherson) in 2:02.1 and Outrageous Style (Gilles Barrieau) in 1:59.2. Outrageous Style is a full-sister to Steven MacRae Memoral Final winner Outrageous Show to give Paul Holmes an owning and breeding double on the day.

Jessiejesorjessica hit the wire first in the $3,100 Open Trot with a 2:01 clocking for driver David Dowling and trainer Jennifer Doyle.

Live racing continues Sunday afternoon at 12:30 P.M. at Red Shores Charlottetown. For a complete racing schedule and more go to Redshores.ca.
