Charlottetown, PE – Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park will be adjusting the 12:30 PM harness racing scheduled post times on Saturday October 21st and Sunday October 22nd back to 2:00 PM.
The move is due to the forecasted heavy rain over nights/early mornings The new post times will also support track maintenance, the integrity of the racing surface and safety of the equine athletes and drivers.
Chelski (Rollwithitharry) and Corey MacPherson will make a bid for victory in the final dash Saturday afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The race 12 finale is the Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares Final, presented by Standardbred Canada, carrying a $14,850 purse. Chelski is the morning line favourite from post 2 with MacPherson in the bike for trainer Jennifer Doyle and owners Jeffrey and Robert Skinner of Nova Scotia. The mare was the winner of the $15,500 Steven and Joe MacRae Memorial earlier this month.
Her main rivals Saturday is listed as Acefortyfour Dome (Driven by Jason Hughes) off the rail and Share The Moment (Gilles Barrieau) from post 8.
Race 6 is the $8,500 Island Ocean Trot Mares Series final, presented by Burkie By The Bay Stable, with Alcina the top choice from post 3 with Barrieau aboard for trainer Jeff Holmes and owner Hardcore Racing of Belfast.
The Home Hardware Maritime Breeder’s for trotters also take to the track on the afternoon card.
Atlantic Breeders Crown champion Dusty Lane Wee is the top selection in the race 2 $9,450 two-year-old trot filly division in line to Marc Campbell for trainer Lenny Myers and owners Garry MacDonald and Ronnie Gass.
Camco Laraido (Ken Murphy) gets the top call in the $9,450 two-year-old trotting colt division in race 4 from post 4 for trainer Kyle Desroche and owner Leah Ann Moyer of Summerside.
Irish Ray (Muscle Through It) will look for the 19th win of his career from post 6 in the Maritime Breeder’s three-year-old trot division that includes colts and fillies. Campbell drives him for trainer Brent Campbell and owner Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston.
