CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Harness racing driver Marc Campbell positioned Roll Em (Time To Roll) on the lead in the Cecil Ladner Memorial Invitational and the rest was history Saturday evening (June 15) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Roll Em in prior win

The $8,500 Cecil Ladner Memorial Invitational was contested on a sloppy track rated three-seconds off and Island Beach Boy (Driven by Brodie MacPhee) was first to the lead before Roll Em came calling at the opening quarter of :28.3.

Roll Em and driver Marc Campbell continued to dominate the front with splits of :59.1, 1:29 and 1:57 for a one-length decision over Twin B Tuffenuff (Gilles Barrieau) while Rollwithhottytoddy (Myles Heffernan Sr.) was third. Brent Campbell co-owns and trains Roll Em for co-owners Brady Doyle, Ryan MacLeod and Savage Stable. It was the third straight win for the six-year-old Indiana bred.

Driver Campbell and trainer Campbell also teamed up to win race 9 with Pauls Crown in 2:03.2. Avatar J was another Marc Campbell driven winner as part of a triple in race 5 for trainer Darren Smith in the PEI Humane Society Pace.

David Dowling also bagged a pair of driving wins to double up trainer Earl Watts with the duo of Marleys Boy (2:01) and Howmac General (2:00.2). Dowling continues to lead all drivers at Red Shores Charlottetown with 35 winners on the season while Marc Campbell closes in at 23 driving wins in second.

Live racing continues Tuesday evening at 6 P.M. at Red Shores Summerside.
