Charlottetown, PE – The field is set for the feature event Saturday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. Post time for the action packed 14 dash program is 6pm. The top class is scheduled to post at 9:20pm.
Fresh off an opening night victory, Bazillion will look to continue his winning ways for owner Kent Livingston. The six-year-old son of Village Jolt comes in winning four of his last five victories, in which he has laid down all of the numbers. Regular reinsman Brian MacPhee will drive for trainer Trevor Hicken.
Bazillion is not the only horse with a streak on the line, Brain, Kevin and Lillian Ladner's Best Risque makes her return to the Charlottetown oval and will put her perfect season on the line when she puts her six race win streak to the test. The nine-year-old daughter of Cammibest will lose her regular pilot, but gain the services of Jason Hughes. The field of seven includes Brodys Leona, Smiley Bayama, Eagle Jolt, First Art Down and Idealic Life.
A full field of eight Open trotters will go post ward in Race 4 on the evening seeing the return of veteran Caliban Hanover to the track from Post 8, the winner of over $14,000 last year for owner Wendell MacDonald will have trainer Ronnie Gass in the driver's seat.
Frill Seeker has been dubbed the morning line favorite from Post 2 for the Ebbsfleet Stable and trainer, driver Kenny Arsenault, The winner of over $8,500 last season is making his first start of the 2016 campaign off a qualifier in 2:02. The race will also feature newcomer Sun Of A Victory, the main land invader from the Chuckie Symes barn will get the services of Gary Chappell as he makes his first start since arriving from the Ontario circuit.
Prince Edward Island's hottest driver, Corey MacPherson will have nine drives on the 14-dash card. MacPherson who has 21 wins from 56 starts in 2016 is 10 ahead of the next closest driver, Marc Campbell.
