SUMMERSIDE, PE – Riding a two-race win streak, Spicey P (Up The Credit – Sydney Seelster) heads to Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway as the favourite in the Tuesday night harness racing feature.
The Prince County Oval has 12-dashes starting at 6 P.M., featuring a $3,200 top class in race 11.
Jason Hughes trains and drives post 6 starter Spicey P for owner Robi Hughes of Stratford. The pacer was a winner his last two starts in 1:55 and 1:55.4 to put him at 13 lifetime victories.
Mantario (To be driven by David Dowling) has already won the Red Shores Summerside top class this season and gets post 7 to work from on Tuesday for trainer Jennifer Doyle as the pacer searches for win number 30 of his career.
Winter Blast has the rail from the Doyle barn with rookie driver Brett Clow picking up the steering duties behind the 46-time-winner.
Sauble Attack has post 2 with Dale Spence driving for Paul Biggar of Tyne Valley with Soccer Hanover (Corey MacPherson) leaves from post 4.
Ironside Seelster (Adam Merner) will be the post 3 starter after winning his last two starts for trainer Duane MacEachern.
Dylan Sam (Ken Murphy) holds down post 5 for Allan Gregory of Charlottetown.
The Backstretch Beat likes Spicey P to grab his third straight victory.”Spicey P won his last two starts in 1:55 and change including a front-end victory from this same post. Finding the front wonāt be as easy today but with his current form we have to play him on top.”
Frontier Cruise is favoured in the race 12 finale carrying a $2,700 pot. MacPherson will drive the Sunshine Beach six-year-old for co-owner and trainer Jean Belliveau and co-owner J.C. Belliveau of New Brunswick. A winner in 1:55 in 2022, Frontier Cruise is installed at 5-2 morning line odds as the early favourite. His chief rivals are slated as Big Boy Hill (Dowling) and Redwhiteandboots (Murphy).
