Ken Murphy put the Sifroi Melanson trainee on the point in the $3,300 featured pace and Woodmere Ideal Art led through splits of 27.4, 57.3, 1:26.4 and 1:55.4 while fighting off a late charge from Frontier Cruise (Driven by Corey MacPherson) to win by a neck with Risin Horizon (Darren Crowe) third. Ultimate Stable of Greater Lakeburn, N.B., hold the ownership papers of the winning eight-year-old.

Murphy had a driving triple as he also won with Azure Beach (2:01.3) for trainer Dwane MacEachern and Sporty Spice (2:00.4) in a 41-1 upset in the first lifetime training win for Sylvia Hall Andrews.

MacEachern doubled up as a trainer with Doc Awesome (1:57.2) winning earlier on the card in line to MacPherson.

Driver Dale Spence swept the two Memorial races on the night for the Johnson family of Nova Scotia. Mill Pond Cheyenne (2:01.1) won the race 2 Uncle George Lynch Memorial for trainer Lee Johnson and driver Spence. Spence then steered Glenview Quintanna (1:57.3) to victory for trainer Adam Johnson in the Kevin Gillis Memorial in race 6. The Tyne Valley driver also won with Imalookertoo (1:57.3) for trainer Danny Romo and Coasttocoastshark in 1:57.3 for trainer Jeff Wallace in the race 14 finale for the driving quadruple.

The Vicar remained undefeated in his young career in race 5 with Bernard McCallum in the race bike behind his trainee for a 1:59 victory for owner GLB Stable of Lakeview, N.S. The son of Artspeak has yet to be bested in three lifetime outings.

Live racing continues Thursday evening with a 6 P.M. opening post time at Red Shores Charlottetown.
