CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Harness racing driver Brady Sweet made sure to find the shortest route around the historic oval with Burn Out Hanover (Well Said) in the Sunday afternoon (Nov. 20) feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Sweet teamed the Jeff Holmes trained Burn Out Hanover to a perfect two-hole trip to win the $3,500 feature in 1:57.4 over Stash It Away (Marc Campbell) while Spicey P (Jason Hughes) and Mantario (David Dowling) were in a deadheat for third.
Stash It Away was hustled the lead in the top event from post 4 while Burn Out Hanover guarded the rail to sit second through splits of 29.1, 59.4 and 1:28.1. Sweet launched Burn Out Hanover up the passing lane during the stretch drive to deliver at 6-1 odds for owner Orwell Bay Stable.
Campbell had a driving triple on the afternoon winning with Zack The Men (2:00.2) for trainer Michael MacDonald and with Southwind Arturo (1:58.4) in the $2,800 Open trot and Filly Forty Seven (1:56.4) in the race 13 finale, both from his own barn.
