CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Covered up in the outer flow, Acefortyfourdome (Up The Credit) stormed home to capture the Thursday evening (Nov. 10) harness racing feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Driver Jason Hughes had Acefortyfourdome unhurried at the beginning of the race 7 Lowther Refrigeration Ltd., pace Fillies and Mares Preferred for a $3,200 purse as the mare got away fifth.
Plain Jane (Ken Murphy) was fired up at the beginning, going to front and leading through fractions of 27.4 and 56.1 before her stablemate Dreamfair Zenfire (Marc Campbell) came calling first-over with Acefortyfourdome on her back second-over.
Three-quarters were reached in a snappy 1:24.4 by Dreamfair Zenfire before Acefortyfourdome took over in the final stanza to win by three-quarters of a length over Tobins Brownie (David Dowling) while Dreamfair Zenfire completed the triactor ticket in third. Hughes trains the winning mare for owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge.
Mile Hill Willie (Armbro Barrister) led at every call to win the $2,800 Open Trot in race 6.
