CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – With a harness racing start under her belt and her nose on the left wing of the gate, Acefortyfour Dome (Up The Credit) will seek to get it all Thursday (June 8) evening in the Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The historic oval will present 13-dashes on Thursday starting at 6 P.M.
Race 12 is the $3,500 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace with the 2022 Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares Series champion Acefortyfour Dome making her second start of the season from the Jason Hughes stable for owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge. Jason Hughes will drive the 26-time winner from post 3 in the main event.
Dreamfair Zenfire is the morning line favourite from post 4 for trainer-driver Marc Campbell after finishing second as the post time favourite in her latest start.
JM Sportsfan was the winner last week in a sharp 1:54.1 and has post 5 on Thursday for the team of driver Steven Shepherd and his father, trainer Harold Shepherd. Share The Moment will make her pari-mutuel debut with post 1 for driver Gilles Barrieau and trainer Bo Ford while Plain Jane (To be driven by Corey MacPherson) has post 2 also from the Campbell barn.
Rounding out the field is Ladylike with post 6 from the red-hot Jennifer Doyle stable. David Dowling gets the driving assignment behind the Shadow Play lass.
The Post Time Picks like Acefortyfour Dome on top.
“Acefortyfour Dome never really got into the race last week but that was her first start of the meet. Now she gets a prime-time spot on the wings, and it will be all systems go so she could be smiling for the camera.”
The top trot carries a $2,900 purse in race 10. Jessiejesorjessica (Barrieau) is the top choice from post 5 over rivals Dealin Magic (Dowling) and Freddie (Campbell).
Race 5 is the Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conference pace with a pair of rookies looking for career firsts. Elm Grove Penney (Adam Merner) is the favourite from post 6 as trainer Luke Burke seeks his first lifetime win as a conditioner.
Rookie driver Brett Clow has yet to hit the winner’s circle and will try to change that from post 4 aboard the Neil Bambrick trained Heatherspet.
