CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – For a second-straight week, Oceanview Rumours (Green Manalishi S) continued her harness racing track record setting trends in Lady Slipper Stakes action Thursday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Under the command of driver Adam Merner, the Melissa Rennie trained two-year-old came first-over and kept driving in her $12,450 Lady Slipper trot filly division to record a new track record of 2:00.1 for rookie trot fillies. Oceanview Nikki (Driven by Mike McGuigan) nabbed second ahead of Supreme Rockette (Brodie MacPhee). The winning filly erased her own 2:00.4 track record set on Aug. 22 for owners Bill and Scott Roloson and Joey Aylward.

In other Lady Slipper action for two-year-old trotting colts, Bless Me Father (Father Patrick) was the first-part of a five-win night for driver Marc Campbell as the Father Patrick colt recovered from an early miscue to win in 2:02.4 in his $12,450 division from the Landon Campbell barn for owner Donna Van Meer of Mount Herbert. Marcus Down Ridge (Clare MacDonald) was second best with Little Arrow (Myles Heffernan Sr.) third.
BLESS ME FATHER REPLAY
Dusty Lane Gus (E L Rocket, Marc Campbell) won the other $12,450 two-year-old trot colt split in 2:02.2 over West River Jet (Ken MacDonald) and In Harmony (Corey MacPherson). Lenny Myers trains for owner Alexis Gass of Cornwall.
Gettin Lit (E L Rocket) won his $17,200 Lady Slipper Trot division for three-year-old colts in 1:59.4 for trainer-driver McGuigan and owner Jamie Whalen of Avondale. Rocket Blast (MacPherson) provided the middle part of the triactor ticket with Camco Laraido (Ken Murphy) completing the combination.
Dusty Lane Wee (E L Rocket, Marc Campbell) doubled up trainer Myers in her $17,200 Lady Slipper three-year-old trot filly event with an open-length victory in 2:01.1 for owners Garry MacDonald of Ontario and Ronnie Gass of Cornwall. Oceanview Daisy (Heffernan) did the early roadwork to settle for second with Dusty Lane Mable (MacPherson) garnering third place.
Rosetown Mary (Pang Shui) hit the wire first in the $5,500 second leg of the P.E.I. Colt Stakes Graduate Series Gold division, presented by JD Marine and Diving Inc., for four, five and six-year-old Maritime Foaled female pacers. Trainer-driver MacPherson celebrated the 1:54.4 victory with owners Rosetown Stable of Stratford and Taylor MacPherson of Cornwall. Tobins Brownie (David Dowling) was second best with Rock N Roll Cays (Hughes) in third.
The pair of $4,300 Grassroots divisions of the P.E.I. Colt Stakes Graduate Series for pacing mares saw wins by Glenview Rhonda (MacPherson) in 1:56 from the Adam Johnson barn and Redland Misspretty (Dowling) in 1:57.1 for trainer Kyle Williams.
The $5,300 leg of the Island Oceans Trot Challenge, presented by Burkie By The Bay Stable, saw New Legacy provide the first part of a Jennifer Doyle training double in 1:58.2. Jason Hughes was in the race bike for owner Danny Birt of Earnscliffe.
In overnight action, the Race 5 CIBC Private Wealth Pickard Financial Management Group pace had Galway Girl (Marc Campbell) on top in 1:57 flat.
Chelski (Damian MacLellan) gave Doyle another win in her $3,250 overnight assignment in 1:55.
Driver Marc Campbell also teamed up with trainer McGuigan to win with Redland Peaches in a 1:58.1 score in race 9.
