CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Fresh off a commanding score last week, Dreamfair Zenfire will seek career win 32 on the final Thursday evening program of the season at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park. The 11-dash Thursday card kicks off at 6:30 P.M., with the Fillies and Mares preferred pace hitting the track in race 10 for a $3,100 pot.
Dreamfair Zenfire will have Jason Hughes in the driver’s seat from post 5 as trainer Marc Campbell elects to drive stablemate Arc Light from post 4. Hughes will look to point Dreamfair Zenfire to her 13th win of the season as the Atlantic record holding mare takes on six foes for owners Ryan and Everett MacLeod of Souris.
Newcomer Do U Mind makes her second Island start from post 6 with Mark Bradley returning to the driver’s seat for trainer Ron Matheson. The 28-time winning daughter of Always A Virgin was fifth in her debut pacing in 1:54.3 to Dreamfair Zenfire last week.
Also in the field are The Time To Win (To be driven by Ken Murphy), Ms Moyse (Adam Merner), Larjon Legacy (Kenny Arsenault) and Ladylike (David Dowling).
Peter MacPhee places his faith in Dreamfair Zenfire in the Post Time Picks. “We’ll sum up Dreamfair Zenfire’s last start in one word: Wow! When you look at her stats those twelve victories hop off the page and with the Blue Knight down to drive this week, she could match her win total from 2020.”
Glider Man will leave from post 5 in the compact field of Open trotters in race 7. Merner drives the son of Yankee Glide for trainer and co-owner Jennifer Doyle and co-owner Danny Birt of Earnscliffe. Glider Man was victorious in the $2,700 class last week.
Starting Nov. 6, Red Shores Charlottetown will shift to a Saturday and Sunday afternoon schedule until December when racing gears down to once a week. Catch all the action live at the track or tune into the Race Day broadcast at Redshores.ca. Live streaming is also available at the Red Shores Youtube page and online wagering can be found at HPIBet.com.
