CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – With one of the few remaining win streaks in Atlantic Canadian Harness Racing, Irish Ray (Muscle Through It) will put it all on the line again Thursday evening (Aug. 31) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The Capital oval has a 15-dash presentation beginning at 6 P.M., featuring the Lady Slipper Stake for two and three-year-old trotters.
Irish Ray is heavily favoured in his $9,950 Lady Slipper three-year-old trot colt division in race 4 for trainer-driver Marc Campbell after winning all 16 of his lifetime outings for owner Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston.
Gettin Salty has rail control in her $9,950 Lady Slipper three-year-old trot filly division in race 2 for trainer-driver Campbell and owner Blayne White as she faces off with arch-rival Camco Erin (To be driven by Mike McGuigan).
Dynamical Tad (Tad The Stud) gets top billing in another three-year-old trot colt split in race 6 as Kenny Arsenault drives for trainer Vaughan Doyle and owners Bill Kinney and Gary Ford. He has rail control to his advantage.
Atlantic record holder Dusty Lane Wee is the morning line favourite in race 8 in a Lady Slipper two-year-old trot filly division for a $14,450 pot with Campbell aboard for trainer Lenny Myers and owners Ron Gass and Garry MacDonald from post 6.
The Lady Slipper two-year-old trotting colt division in race 10 has Rocket Blast fresh off a victory from post 4 as the top choice with $14,450 at stake. Corey MacPherson gets the call to drive for owner-trainer Carl Bagnall.
Race 12 is the D & G Younker Memorial Trot with a full field of eight vying for $2,200. Whole Nother gets the top call with post 5 for the team of driver Brodie MacPhee, owner-trainer Ted Smallwod and co-owner Ronald Peters.
